Westelcom raises
$1,250 for Cancer Cause
Kudos to Dave Mance and
Westelcom's Jeff Wood, both Cancer Survivors, who together with Steve
Wood of Westelcom initiated a campaign
to raise
funds
for the American Cancer
Society Relay for Life. Westelcom announced in
July 2006
that for every new business to join the Westelcom
Network
the company would be obliged to donate to help fight for a cure
of a disease that Jeff Wood broadcasted “at one time or another has
affected our own lives.” Dave
Mance was happy to pitch in radio airtime to raise awareness due to his
remarkable fight against cancer in 1986. “I received the proper
treatment” he stated. “I also took some very good advice to increase my
chances of survival and I am happy to say that I’ve lived a life
cancer-free ever since.”According to the American
Cancer Society, cancer caused 22.7% of all deaths in 2006.
Westelcom
and the companies that so charitably entered their network are pleased
to have raised $1,250. |
