Westelcom Vice President of Finance gets Promotion to Chief Financial Officer

We are pleased to announce that Gordon Decker, Vice President of Finance at Westelcom and Chazy Westport Communications, has been promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). His strong work ethic, dedication and authenticity has enabled him to climb from company accountant, to manager, to Vice President of Finance, than ultimately to this well earned promotion of CFO.

Decker, employed by Chazy Westport Communications for nearly 37 years, has led the company through many successes.

CEO James Forcier says, “Decker was thoroughly involved with many of our biggest corporate decisions and changes, case in point, the founding of Westelcom " ,  their competitive voice and  data  company, that now has operated and matured successfully for 25 years.   "Further,"  Forcier elaborates,  "when we acquired  local internet companies,  NorthNet and GISCO ,  he was a key contributor in the development of our business and financial planning allowing us to advantageously secure the deal.” Forcier sees Decker as “a good thinker and listener who has, and will, guide the company in a fiscally prudent manner.”

Mr. Decker plans on making sure Chazy & Westport Communications and subsidiaries are monetarily sound today and in future years. He emphasizes that “if our company is financially sound, we will be able to deliver products efficiently.  Also, to effectively continue the quality service we have today, the financial operations of our company must be healthy and strategic.”

In the past Gordon has been actively involved on the Westport Central School Board and Investment Clubs.  He has served as Treasurer of the Westport Fire District since 1993. When he’s not devoting himself to the company and community you can usually find him boating, fishing or hunting.   He most enjoys spending time with his children Christine and Andrew; 3 grandchildren; and his wife Nancy; while absorbing the scenic views of Lake Champlain from his Adirondack home.
