Westelcom Receives Public Service Commission (PSC) Commendation

Westelcom Communications recently announced it has been awarded the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) Commendation for Excellent Service in 2009. Presented annually, the award recognizes telephone companies that consistently provide the highest levels of service and quality to customers in New York State. This marks the fourth consecutive year Westelcom Communications has been so honored by the PSC.

“The Commission’s standards help ensure all New York residents and businesses benefit from having access to an exceedingly high level of telecommunications technology and service,” said Commission Chairman Garry Brown. “The companies commended today have exceeded the state’s high standards for service quality and deserve the acknowledgement of the Commission for providing excellent service to their customers.”

Westelcom Communications prides itself on delivering the highest level of quality to our customers," said Paul Barton, President of Westelcom. "This commendation recognizes Westelcom’s ongoing commitment to customer satisfaction as a top priority while moving forward with innovative and valuable delivery of advanced business services across Northern New York."

The annual commendation recognizes excellent service based on providers' performance relative to service quality standards set forth by the PSC. The commendations are based on two metrics: The Customer Trouble Report Rates (CTRR) and the PSC Complaint Rate, or the number of complaints received each year by the Commission per 1,000 access lines.
