Step 3: Customizing your Settings
Notice in
your taskbar, near your clock, you now have an Accelerator
icon. If you right click on it, then click on Settings, you
will se the screen shown in Figure 2.
Notice there
is a “Slide Bar” under the two pictures.
The default
setting provides a very good combination of quality and
increased downloading speed. However, you can adjust the slide
bar to the left to increase speed but you will lose
picture quality, or to the right to decrease speed but
increase picture quality.
As you slide
the bar left or right, the pictures (Figures 3 and 4) show you
approximately how the quality of web pictures will vary.
If you are going to a site that has a lot of pictures you don’t
care about seeing, then slide the bar to the left to increase
loading speed. If you want to see the web site picture in
their highest quality, slide the bar to the right. Leaving
the bar at its default setting will not degrade the quality of
web site pictures very much, and to most, the difference will
not be noticeable.
